In March, our SOCOLAIT factory in Antsirabe had the honor of welcoming David Ralambofiringa, Minister of Industry and Trade (MIC), along with VyVato Rakotovao, Governor of the Vakinankaratra region, and their respective teams.
As a leading player in Madagascar’s dairy industry, SOCOLAIT used this opportunity to highlight the daily challenges we face and to showcase the partnership programs we’ve established to support the 3,000 dairy farmers who supply us with raw materials. These farmers benefit from our fresh milk collection system, which enables us to collect 7 million liters of milk annually—representing 65% of the country’s local production.
During the visit, the Minister emphasized the importance of protecting Malagasy businesses, stating that “the Government has the necessary tools to safeguard local production against foreign competition.”
Through this visit, SOCOLAIT reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the dairy value chain by fostering a unique ecosystem that brings together farmers, pre-collectors, and collectors—all working in support of both the local and national economy.
